"Northern Lights Resort has the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets that a person could imagine. The managers are exceptional and always there to assist in anything that is needed. The cabins and grounds are kept in pristine condition and are constantly being upgraded. Ther is nothing that could be added to this resort to make your vacation on Kabetogama a more pleasing experience. I can hardly wait to return next year to enjoy our time in Northern Minnesota." -- Mike Obraske |

It took a lot of skill and 6 laps around the boat for Brent Lien to land this 50 1/2" Northern with an 18.5" girth on 6# line without a leader. Brent's dad Doug did a great job with the net not to knock off this fragile caught fighter of a Northern. It is estimated to weigh between 32 & 35 lbs. The fish was released. The DNR estimates the age of this fish to be over 20 years old! They now have a story to tell for life!! The Lien's are good fishermen and repeat customers of Northern Lights Resort. |

Some major pieces have been added to the Aqua Tramp! The
"Tower"
with climbing wall, slide and a 20' launch as well as the aqua log.
Even
on the cool days the kids run from the sauna on the dock to the
floating
water park. We love to see 'em happy. |
Northern Lights Resort is a Green business Prior to the opening of the season, NL sanitizes the well and the entire water system to every faucet of every cabin and every faucet of possible personal consumption. We conserve water with low flush toilets, water saver shower heads and other devices. NL has a sofisticated pretreatment sewer system that is collected from around the resort, pumped to pretreatment wetlands and eventually to alternating drain fields 800' to 1,300' back from the lake. With your help (and we thank you) we re-cycle and pay to have garbage hauled nearly 90 miles from the resort. We are converting to low watt florescent light bulbs, use biodegradable and safe cleaning products and are exploring the addition of adding solar to suppliment some of our energy needs. As our budget allows you will see we are converting our outboard motors to 4-stroke for more efficient gas consumption and less lake polution. We take extra measures to deal with rodents and insects that may intrude into the cabins. We are conscious of and deal responsibly with our enviroment.
We are committed, Pat, Tom, Heidi and Harlan.
